11th Edition of International Gastronomic Forum of 'Alimentarte'
The International Gastronomic Forum of Alimentarte celebrates its eleventh edition on May 28 and 29, 2024, supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Fontur, and in collaboration with the prestigious Basque Culinary Center, the leading academic and training center for gastronomic innovation worldwide. This event brings together national and international leaders in the sector to address the most relevant topics in the gastronomy industry.
From its platform Alimentarte, the Corazón Verde Foundation has played a crucial role in strengthening the Colombian gastronomic sector, positioning and promoting the country's gastronomy, as well as building the national gastronomic tourism product.
The Forum will feature the participation of more than 25 sector experts, including prominent national and international chefs such as Anthony Vásquez, Floriano Pellegrino, Tomás Treschanski, Leonor Espinoza, Álvaro Clavijo, among others. Additionally, sommeliers, mixologists, dining professionals, and journalists will be included, discussing topics such as the gastronomic evolution of Latin America and social gastronomy, among others.
This edition of the Forum will highlight the Caribbean region as the central theme, highlighting its importance as a culinary treasure that merges different influences, ingredients, and flavors. Its dishes are emblematic of this unique cultural fusion. The abundance of seafood and tropical fruits adds freshness and flavor, consolidating the Caribbean as a gastronomic epicenter in Colombia.
Additionally, the second edition of the Alimentarte Competition will be launched, focusing on the Caribbean region and its agro-industrial products, contributing to the strengthening of the regional economy and the linkage of actors in the Colombian gastronomic sector.
The Forum will be held both in-person and virtually, offering a wide range of content through cooking demos, presentations, dialogues, and interviews.
To participate in the Forum in-person or virtually, interested individuals must register for free at www.foroalimentarte.com. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
As Basque Culinary Center Director Joxe Mari Aizega states, "For years we have had a strong presence and activity throughout Latin America, and one of the countries with which we have had a very close relationship has been Colombia. Many Colombian students and chefs have passed through the classrooms of our center, making it clear to us that we are facing a reference of food diversity and culinary talent that deserves to be recognized and enhanced. In this context, we believe it is essential to activate spaces for dialogue and reflection that transcend borders and focus on experiences, and that is why, once again, we want to continue to co-organize the Alimentarte Forum with the Corazón Verde Foundation."
"The Network of Gastronomic Events in Colombia is strengthened with events like the International Gastronomic Forum, which consolidates the positioning of gastronomy as a tourist product of the Country of Beauty," said the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arturo Bravo. The senior official highlighted that this event, brought by the Corazón Verde Foundation, aligns with the purposes of the Sectoral Tourism Plan 2022 - 2026 'Tourism in Harmony with Life' through which the "recognition of traditional values, the diversity of local products, and innovation from field to table" is promoted. He also emphasized the participation of the most important chefs and traditional cooks in our country, conversing and cooking inspired by our Caribbean region.
