Basque Culinary Center and CTIC CITA sign a collaboration agreement focused on the Doctorate program in Gastronomic Sciences

The Basque Culinary Center and the Agri-Food Technological Center CTIC CITA have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of jointly developing activities related to training, research, and technological development in the field of gastronomic sciences, nutrition, and food science and technology.

This agreement promotes collaboration between both entities in the educational activities of the Bachelor's Degree in Gastronomic Sciences and Culinary Arts and the various master's programs offered by the Basque Culinary Center. It also allows researchers from both institutions to conduct doctoral theses within the Doctorate Program in Gastronomic Sciences at the Basque Culinary Center, which is a pioneering program on an international level. Additionally, thanks to the agreement, doctoral theses that involve research projects can be jointly supervised by CTIC CITA and BCC Innovation personnel.

In the words of Alex Beitia, Academic Director of the Basque Culinary Center, "we are excited to start the year 2023 with the signing of this new agreement. At the Basque Culinary Center, we want to continue growing and deepening our knowledge in areas such as gastronomic sciences or food science and technology. Working hand in hand with CTIC CITA allows us to strengthen our research lines in quality, food safety, or environmental impact reduction, among others."

BCC Doctorate Program

The Doctorate Program at the Basque Culinary Center trains future researchers in the field of gastronomic sciences, combining the knowledge of professionals from the haute cuisine and business sectors to promote the development of various areas: food technology, nutrition, functional food, agri-food equipment.

The Basque Culinary Center, a faculty of gastronomic sciences affiliated with Mondragon University, aims to professionalize the gastronomy sector by highlighting all its aspects. The Doctorate Program offers the opportunity to delve into the field of gastronomic sciences, specializing in the areas of food sciences or management, society, and culture.
